01 · Introduction

Who we are and what this policy covers

FutureSpark Studio Ltd (“FutureSpark”, “we”, “us” or “our”) publishes MyBusinessDB. This policy explains how information is handled when you use MyBusinessDB, visit our website, or contact us for support.

FutureSpark is the controller of personal information it receives through support, business enquiries, and its website. The business and customer information you enter into MyBusinessDB remains under your control on your device. If you use the app for your own organisation, you are responsible for using that information lawfully and for giving any notices your customers, staff, or contacts require.

02 · Inside the app

Data handled by MyBusinessDB

The app can store information you choose to enter, including:

  • business profiles, contact details, branding, and logos;
  • customer names, contact details, and related notes;
  • jobs, dates, statuses, attachments, and custom fields;
  • quotes, invoice snapshots, costs, payments, and expenses;
  • receipt images and customer or job attachments; and
  • preferences, imports, exports, and backup history.

This operational content is stored locally. FutureSpark does not receive it through the current app, and the current app has no FutureSpark account, hosted database, cloud sync, advertising, or analytics service.

MyBusinessDB does not use your business records for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making. Future features that change these practices will require this policy and the relevant store disclosures to be updated before release.

03 · Your choices

Permissions, exports and sharing

Camera and photos. Used only when you choose a logo, receipt, or customer or job attachment.

Files and imports. Used when you select a CSV file or create, import, or restore a backup.

Print and share. Used when you choose to print or share attachments, CSV files, PDFs, or backups.

If you send a file to Files, Google Drive, OneDrive, email, or another app, that provider will handle it under its own privacy terms. Backups, exports, and PDFs are not encrypted by MyBusinessDB, so protect them and remove external copies you no longer need.

04 · Subscriptions

App-store purchases

Purchases and subscriptions are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. The store may provide the app with limited purchase-status or entitlement information needed to confirm access. FutureSpark does not receive your full payment-card details.

Apple or Google handles your store account, payment, billing, cancellation, and refund information under its own terms and privacy policy.

05 · When you contact us

Website and support data

If you email us, we receive your email address and the message, attachments, device information, or other details you choose to send. Please do not send passwords, verification codes, payment-card information, or unnecessary customer records.

Our website host may process standard technical request data, such as IP address, browser or device information, requested URL, and timestamps, to deliver and secure the site. The current site has no contact form, advertising trackers, or FutureSpark analytics, and FutureSpark does not set marketing cookies.

06 · Purpose and lawful basis

How and why we use information we receive

Support and product enquiries

To respond and provide requested help. We rely on contract or steps requested before a contract where applicable, and our legitimate interest in supporting our products.

Purchases and product access

To provide purchased access and resolve transaction issues. We rely on contract, relevant legal obligations, and our legitimate interest in preventing misuse.

Website operation and security

To keep our website available, diagnose faults, and prevent abuse. We rely on our legitimate interest in operating a safe, reliable service.

Privacy and legal requests

To respond to rights requests, disputes, or lawful authority requests. We rely on legal obligations and legitimate interests where applicable.

07 · Service providers

Sharing and international transfers

We do not sell or rent personal information. We disclose only what is reasonably necessary to service providers that host our website, deliver email, or operate app-store purchases; to professional advisers; or to authorities where the law requires it. Those recipients may act as processors or independent controllers depending on the service.

Some providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK law requires safeguards, we rely on applicable adequacy regulations or approved contractual protections. You can contact us for more information about safeguards relevant to information we hold.

A service you choose for an app export or backup receives that file because you directed the transfer; FutureSpark does not receive or control that copy.

08 · Keeping and removing data

Retention and deletion

App data remains on your device until you edit, archive, or delete it, remove the relevant business data, or uninstall the app, subject to any copies held in your device or cloud backup. Some invoices and expenses may be voided or archived rather than permanently deleted inside the app to preserve financial record integrity. You remain responsible for any legal record-keeping requirements that apply to your business.

MyBusinessDB does not currently create a FutureSpark online account, so there is no remote MyBusinessDB account to delete. Backups and exported files stored elsewhere must be deleted from those locations separately.

We keep support correspondence only while needed to resolve the request, maintain an appropriate support history, meet legal or accounting duties, or establish and defend legal claims. We periodically review information and remove it when it is no longer required. Technical logs are kept according to the relevant service provider's retention arrangements.

09 · Your choices and rights

Your privacy rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or receive a copy of personal information we hold, and to object to certain uses. Because FutureSpark does not receive the content stored locally in MyBusinessDB, we normally cannot retrieve or delete that app content for you.

You have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Email us with the subject “Privacy request” and explain what you would like us to review.

We will usually respond within one month. We may need to confirm your identity, and a right can be limited where an exemption or another legal obligation applies. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office .

10 · Children and changes

Children and policy updates

MyBusinessDB is a business-management tool and is not directed at children. We may update this policy when the app, our providers, or legal requirements change. The latest version will appear on this page with its updated date.
